NUTRIS
Research group Nutrition and public health consists of researchers with previous experience in assessment of food marketing, with a particular emphasis on food marketing to children in different media and on food labels. The team possesses also a robust understanding of nutrient profiling, frequently employed as a mechanism to assess the nutritional composition of foods. This tool is particularly utilized to gauge the appropriateness of marketing these products to children. NUTRIS is involved in INFORMAS (International Network for Food and Obesity/NCDs Research, Monitoring and Action Support), which is a global network of public-interest organisations and researchers that aims to monitor, benchmark and support public and private sector actions to increase healthy food environments and reduce obesity and NCDs and their related inequalities. In Slovenia, NUTRIS leads a national website on food and nutrition, which supports general public with dissemination of reliable information on nutrition. NUTRIS will mainly contribute to the mapping of approaches (WP1) and the analysis of effects of food information (WP2), and lead the Transparency Committee (T4.3).
